CLD #414

For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
Doing Averot (sins) is like being addicted to candy.
Everyone knows the best tasting foods are usually the worst for you in regards to health. The same goes for the Spiritual World. When one does an Avera, he/she first becomes attached to it in some way. The body begins to build a craving mechanism for it. The body begins to change to accept that it is a part of its normal intake.
After a while, even if it means to chase after it and ruin your entire day, the craving becomes so bad that it seems like the RIGHT THING to do.
When a Jew gets to this level, he/she gives themselves up to the Yetzer Hara, the Evil Inclination, and says “I Quit.” And the harder thing to do is to BELIEVE that there IS a Yeshu’ah, a redemption that is nearby.
What is the key to this Yeshu’ah? It is to pray to Hashem with all our hearts and yell to Him: “Aba, I believe in you, its just so hardddd, PLEASE HELP ME.”
As it says in Ashrei (Perek 146 in Tehillim): “Karov Hashem Lechol Korav Lechol Asher Yikre’u’hu Be’EMET.” Close is Hashem to all the ones who Call to Him in TRUTH. What does it mean “in Truth?” It means with all your heart, with all your emotion, with all your power, with all your strength, with all your feeling, and with all your mind.

We all know Hashem exists and wants to help us and tells us that the RIGHT PATH in life is the Torah. So why doesn’t Hashem just make it so much easier and have miracles happen in front of our eyes all day? First of all, there are miracles in front of our eyes all day (just the fact that our bodies work to go to the bathroom and we can intake food and water at the same time that our hearts work are 2 examples of huge miracles). Second, it is because Hashem wants us to work for it. We all know the biggest reward is after a lot of work.
B’H we should realize that it takes a lot to get closer to Hashem, and it is NOT easy, but it is definitely worth it and it is the right path to ALL TYPES of Success.

Tonight in the non-Jewish calendar it is a non-Jewish holiday. Look at what the non-Jews do on their holiday: drink, smoke and follow in the path of sexual immorality in clubs and bars. What do we do on our holidays? Isn’t it awesome we are commanded to be moral and act HUMAN.

Judaism=Think. What is my purpose?
What path am I taking?

From Yalkut Yosef:

1. One should be cautious regarding the time of putting on and taking off clothes and should not say “I am in my private room” and make up excuses why they can act/dress immodest. Hashem fills up the entire world with His Kavod (respect). To respect Hashem, one should always be alert to dress modestly and become accustomed to covering up. One should be quick to wake up and put on his/her clothing. And a child who is at the age of understanding concepts and ideas should be taught to dress modestly.

2. Even in a place where one cannot cover him/herself up, like in the Shower or bathing in a body of water, he/she should put effort to show only what is necessary (meaning try to be as modest as possible). One should be cautious to dress and undress as close to the body of water/shower as possible.

CLD #413

For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester & the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara.
The power of Nidui, excommunication, is intense in the Torah. There is a famous story in the Gemara (Masecehet Baba Kama 59b) that explains the Nidui on Rav Eliezer.  Nidui was when a group of Rabbanim would come together and put someone in Nidui, or eviction/excommunication.
The Holy Rambam writes in his Halachot book, Mishneh Torah, the Halachot that deal with Nidui. One who is put under Nidui by the Bet Din has a couple obstacles to face: 1. This person cannot launder his clothing or cut his har (like a mourner). 2. He is not counted in a Zimmun (what 3+ people say before Birkat HaMazon) or anything that needs 10 people (including minyan, which makes him look like a Goy). 3. Finally, no one can sit in his 4 amot (6 feet radius from him).

From the Rambam’s teachings we see Nidui is not something one should take lightly at all! Nidui is serious.

So what does that have to do with today or with us?
We know our society is very advanced and modern, so it makes it difficult for people to connect to the Torah. But at the same time, we all need to practice certain things that will never be replaced with technology, like ethics and behavior. The Torah has a strong belief on how one should behave and reveals it to Am Yisrael and the entire world clearly. Baruch Hashem for the Torah.

So what does behavior and Nidui have to do with eachother? The Shulchan Aruch, composed by Rav Yosef Karo in Tzefat (1500s), who brought together all the Halachot (jewish law) to write out the way all the Jews used to live back then for future generations. He lists 24 cases when the Bet Din has to enforce Nidui on an individual. One of these ways is causing a Blind person to fail at something or someone who directs a large group of people (Rabim) to do Chillul Hashem. These few examples from the overall Limud Torah teach us how much good comes from the Torah.

How awesome is it that we are commanded to do good?!

From Ve’En Lamo Michshol:

1. It is a big Chiyuv (obligation) for the sick to go to a doctor to be healed by the way of society. It is forbidden for this sick person to avoid going to the doctor and be healed in a natural way. A person who waits to be healed by nature is following the mindset of fools and in the ways of criminals. Whoever has an internal sickness has to act by the way of nature and must go to doctors and do what they say BUT need to depend on Hashem 100% instead of depending on the doctors. This person needs to explain to the doctors that he/she is seeing them for assistance only because Halacha says so.

2. Even though the sick cannot base their faith on the doctors and can ONLY rely on Hashem, the sick still needs to listen to all the doctor’s orders. Therefore if the doctor tells the sick that it is dangerous to fast on Yom Kippur (even if it is doubtfully dangerous), the sick person needs to listen to the doctor and eat on Yom Kippur.

CLD #412

For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
When one follows the Halacha of Shenayim Mikrah Echad Targum, which is the reading of the Parasha (twice) and the Targum (Aramaic translation once), they realize so many things that are going on and it is almost impossible to pick up all there is to learn. Parashat Noach, along with the entire Torah, is packed with things to learn.
When reading the Parasha, the Torah goes through many instances, from the actual reasoning why the Mabul (Flood) from Noach’s time happened to the preparations before the Mabul, to the actual Mabul itself, and on and on.
Modern Picture of Noah's Ark (box looking shape
on left) during the Mabul.
By the end of the Parasha, after the Mabul, the entire world was united because only Lashon HaKodesh, the language of the Torah (Biblical Hebrew) was spoken. This created a unification system between the people of the world. The Torah begins the Migdal Bavel passage (Tower of Babel) by saying the people of the time were united under one language and they decided to build a huge tower (that was bigger than the Twin Towers by the way according to the Midrash).
So after they began the planning and building (imagine hundreds of thousands of people working together and loving eachother, not like today’s construction of 5,000 people to build a skyscraper), the Torah explains they did this because they believed if they would not have done this Hashem would have scattered them “upon the face of the earth” (Bereshit 11:4, chabad.org). On this phrase, Rashi explains that they wanted to do this in order to rule the world so they would be in charge of what their destiny would be. I thought it was just weird that suddenly the entire world’s population want to create a tower to reach Hashem.
Anyway, the next Pasuk is what we should focus on: it says “VaYered Hashem…,” And Hashem descended… Hashem descends? Hashem is only up in Shamayim and every time we call to Him, He comes down ‘physically’ and listens to us? Absolutely not. We all know “Hashem is here, Hashem is there, Hashem is everywhere!”
So why does the Torah describe Hashem as descending to view th huge sin of the building of Migdal Bavel, Hashem does not need to descend anywhere to see what is happening? Rashi explains beautifully: (Thank G-d for Rashi) The Torah described this to teach Judges to judge ONLY when they actually see the wick perform the acts of wickedness and UNDERSTAND that the actions are wicked.
This is amazing. What is one of the reason’s Hashem wrote in this Pasuk: “descended?” To teach us to make sure we investigate and research before we make any conclusions.
Unfortunately, it is very easy to jump to conclusions. If someone only obtained a little level of patience, then he/she would save so much trouble for him/herself.
We all experienced times where if we would have waited another minute or two, we would save a lot of arguments and bickering with our friends and family.

The Torah is an endless piece of Divine Wisdom that was created as a blueprint for this world. In order to gain the most out of this world, one should follow in the Torah’s footsteps. One of the 3 major Mitzvot for a Jew is Shabbat Kodesh.
This Shabbat is also Rosh Chodesh (The first day of the Hebrew Month called MarCheshvan).

Will you waste time by scrolling on Facebook on Shabbat night or will you try to begin a spiritual connection or further enhance a type of connection with Hashem by eating with your family, conversing about the endless wisdom of the Torah/Talmud/Mishnah/Midrash/Tehillim/Mussar/Religious Thought, etc., or praying to Hashem and saying “Thank You for everything You do for me?”

A New month means to Start Fresh.
Judaism=Think. What am I doing in this world?
B’H He will put into our hearts the WILL to Keep Shabbat.
Shabbat Shalom & Chodesh Tov!

From Yalkut Yosef:

1. Whoever does not have enough money to buy Products/Things needed specifically for Shabbat, they are even allowed to borrow money (even with interest that is allowed according to the Rabbanim) in order to fulfill the Mitzvah of Oneg Shabbat! (Rav Yitzchak Yosef does not put an explanantion in the halacha but I had to add one here) And Hashem will find a way for this person to pay his debts. There are those who say one is allowed to violate the prohibition of Interest that was imposed by the Chachamim (DeRabanan) without even going through permissions from the Rabbanim, which is called Heter Iska.

2. Everyone from Am Yisrael is obligated to fulfill the Mitzvah of Kevod and Oneg Shabbat. Kvod HaShabbat is all the necessary preparations one should do before Shbbat, which means to bathe and shower in hot water and to change clothes to the most respectable attire, in order to differentiate between clothing of the week and clothing for Shabbat. This should be on Erev Shabbat (Friday after Chatzot, after midday). Even if one is alone on Shabbat they should change clothing because it is to respect the day of Shabbat and not people. Oneg Shabbat means to be involved with the actions that take place on Shabbat, such as meals, drinking, eating, etc.

CLD #411

For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
Be’ezrat Hashem in the Parasha we will read on Shabbat Kodesh, Parashat Noach, there is an interesting passage about Noach drinking wine (Bereshit 9:20-24). The Ben Ish Chai brings a piece of the Holy Gemara that speaks about this issue. Chazal from Masechet Sanhedrin 70a explain that there were 13 ‘Vav’im in the entire Wine Passage with Noach. This means the letter Vav was brought up 13 times: “VaYachel, VaYitah, VaYesht, VaYishkar, VaYitgal, VaYar, VaYaged, VaYikach, VaYasimu, VaYelchu, VaYechasoo, VaYiketz, and VaYedah.” (And Noach begin…, And he planted…, And he drank…, And became drunk…, And he uncovered…, And Ham saw…, And he told…, And they took…, And they placed…, And they walked…, And  they covered…, And Noach woke…., And he knew….) These 13 Vav’im obviously symbolize something. Rashi explains on this piece of Gemara that the Vav is written so many times in this Wine Passage in Parashat Noach because it is such a “Vai, Vai,” incident. When someone says “Vai, Vai,” they are weeping or suffering. This act of wine drinking was a low point in Noach’s life. Rashi explains how terrible it is to reach this level.
The Ben Ish Chai agrees with the great Rashi, but he explains that there is more that Chazal (who made up the Gemara) want to say about this rather than just explaining it as Rashi did, which was on a simple Pshat (meaning-of-the-words) level. Chazal were very precise with what words to write when they made up the Gemara. To sit down and write out each time one of the 13 Vav’im appears throughout this wine passage seems like a waste of ink and parchment! But the Ben Ish Chai further shows us that NOTHING IN THE TORAH IS MEANINGLESS. The fact that Chazal went out of their way to list these Vav’im is not something one should just look over. The Ben Ish Chai explains that these 13 Vavim break down into 13 times the Gematriya (numerical value) of Vav (6), which equals 78. Seventy Eight in Gematriya symbolizes two words: Lechem, which is bread and has the Gematriya of 78 (Lamed-30, Chet-8, Mem-40) and Melach, which is salt and also has the Gematriya of 78 (Mem-40, Lamed-30, Chet-8).
Now when looking at the Wine Passage, we see Chazal want to teach us Mussar (rebuke/ethics). What are they telling us? There are two ways to drink wine: there is the level of bread (Lechem=78, 13x6) and on the level of salt (Melach=78, 13x6). When someone drinks wine on the level of bread, to be completely full from wine and abuse the beverage, they end up falling into Noach’s mistake of drinking and reaching a very low level of impurity (look in the Torah at Mepharshim for more details). But when one drinks wine on the level of salt, on a Kosher level with a health reason (as it is known that wine is very healthy for your digestive track and overall health); they gain from it. The Ben Ish Chai also adds that salt is a very important spice, so one can benefit greatly when drinking wine, and adding the correct amount of spice to one’s life can only benefit.

B’H this shows us on a general viewpoint that everyone should take a specific action and always THINK how to do it in the most Torah oriented BALANCED WAY. For example, there is a Midterm coming up and it falls out exactly at Sunset Time, which usually I go to Minyan and pray Mincha & Arvit. There are 3 general options one can follow: 1-Go to the professor and completely threat him/her and ask Why they are trying to ruin their religious level and their spirituality and create a whole mess. 2-Go to the Midterm and just don’t say Mincha & Arvit (G-d forbid), here they avoid controversy and they lazily choose to miss 2/3 of Prayer one is obligated to do everyday. 3-Look for other Minyanim in the area, specifically Mincha at an earlier time that would fit perfectly with enough time left over to go to the Midterm in a relaxed fashion and find an Arvit minyan that is later on at night. In Judasim, if one REALLY WANTS IT, they can live a life full of Mitzvot & Avodat Hashem. Everything is possible. Just like its very possible to pretend one did not have 12 years of a Jewish education and walk around College just like another non-Jew, it is very very possible to be very Jewish and very modern and PRACTICAL.

Look what only FOUR verses in the Torah can do. The Torah’s wisdom is endless.
Judaism=Think.
Why am I Jewish and what is my purpose?

From Yalkut Yosef:

1. Forever one should get used to saying “Kol Man De’Avid Rachmana Letav Avid.” (translation=All that Hashem does, it is done for the good. Basically Hashem only makes good things happen).

2. During Tefillat Shmoneh Esreh (Amidah) one should hold both his/her hands together on his/her heart with the right hand covering the left and should stand in front of Hashem in awe, trepidation and fear. One should avoid placing his/her hands on the hips because it is a sign of pride (Ga’ava, Yuhara=the worst type of characteristic towards G-d). However, today many people do not follow this and they have something to lean on (meaning its okay according to Halacha), especially those who hold a Siddur to pray. Nevertheless, one should absolutely avoid plcing their hands behind their body, because it is not even respected to stand like this before Presidents.

CLD #410

For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
I was asked to write a CLD dedicated to the problems of going to your local gym and why one should NOT feel bad about not exercising for religious reasons.
Let’s begin:
We know there is a common understanding among Jews to keep a certain level of Kdusha, purity; which includes controlling the attraction between you and the opposite sex. For a man and a woman to be together, the Torah [obviously] urges for a fiery relationship filled with love, passion and tons of communication. Before and after your wedding night, one is still commanded even more to keep that Purity by Marriage Laws. This Purity sticks to one’s soul ONLY with a constant protection of keeping oneself sexually modest, which means to avoid touching the opposite sex (excluding your spouse, parents, siblings, and grandparents) and distancing from anything impure (explicit magazines, videos, music, places of sexual acts, etc).
For all men there is a Mitzvah to guard one’s eyes. We read it at least twice daily in the third passage of Shema Yisrael: VeLe Taturu Acharei Levavchem VeAcharei Enechem Asher Atem Zonim Acharehem. “…and you shall not wander after your hearts and after your eyes after which you are going astray.” (Bamidbar 16:39, chabad.org). When a guy goes to the local gym, there are woman there not wearing the most modest clothes. Let’s be honest, even the most observant-Jew-wannabe will have a very hard time guarding their eyes from looking at places EVERYONE knows not to look at in regards to Kdusha. So now we see a clear Mitzvah that shows one should avoid going to the gym. Today there are many FREE things one can do to avoid going to the gym. There are many exercises one can do at home, there is your local park that can be used as a treadmill, there are separate same-sex classes one can go to, and if someone really follows the Torah with all their heart Hashem will help them do anything (even something as small as exercising) they are sacrificing for living a life of Torah. In the end of the day, everything is in the hands of G-d anyway, so why would it be difficult for Him to help you exercise in an alternate way rather than going to the local gym?
Now, every Jew has the Mitzvah of VeLiphnei Iver Lo Titen Michshol. “…you shall not place a stumbling block before a blind person…” (Vayikra 19:14, chabad.org). This Mitzvah means one should avoid putting an obstacle (spiritual, physical and any other type of obstacle) in front of his/her fellow Jew. For example, one should not eat a cheeseburger (at least not publicly) because then they make it look ‘okay to eat it’ and make the Torah prohibition of eating non-Kosher ‘light’ in their eyes, like it is not a big deal to go against the Torah, Hashem Yerachem. So for a woman, obviously dressed non-modestly, to go to the gym; she is putting a stumbling block in front of a Jewish man to look at her (even if she does not have the intention of doing so!!!). We just learned a man cannot look at a woman or else he will follow his heart’s desires and reach impurity in one way or the other. So, we see that for both men and women it is prohibited to go to a public place where there is any type of immodesty.

Be’ezrat Hashem we should all have the strength from Shamayim (Heaven) to distance ourselves from all impurities and have the EMUNAH (faith) that Hashem protects and helps the individual who sacrifices for the Torah’s sake. If one really stops doing something for Hashem (but really for the sake of not doing a sin, no jokes here), then Hashem will pay him/her back eventually GUARANTEED. The benefits that one receives from doing a sin does not match the benefits one receives when following the way of the Torah.

Hashem did not give us the Torah to suffer, He gave it to us because the way of the Torah is the most beneficial way to live. If one avoids going to the gym because he/she does not want to sin, Hashem will lead these people to succeed in their exercising need in another way. One should not feel bad about not exercising; rather they should take action and find all the possibilities of accomplishing something by the Torah’s way and be PACKED WITH JOY that they have the zchut (privilege) to choose in Hashem’s way.

KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEHOO BEN HAOLAM HABA

L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester, Shahin Shmuel ben Hadassa & Israel Ben Rivka.
From Yalkut Yosef:

1. Mayim Achronim Chova, the ‘Last Water is Mandatory,’ this is the famous Halacha from the Shulchan Aruch that people say when finishing a meal. It teaches to do a specific Washing before saying Zimun and Birkat HaMazon. In the times of the Gemara, Mayim Achronim was done to clean people’s hands from Melach Sdomit, or Salt from Sedom, which could have harmed one’s eyesight if touches the eye. Even though Melach Sdomit does not exist anymore, the Halacha of Mayim Achronim is still mandatory, especially for those with dirty hands. One should not be lenient about this.

2. After one ends his/her meal and has done Mayim Achronim, he/she cannot drink and/or eat until they have finished praying Birkat HaMazon. In Shulchan Aruch it is written Vetechef LeNetilla Beracha, which means immiediately after the washing (Mayim Achronim) one should bless (say Birkat HaMazon). If one began the Zimun (special line one says with three or more people who ate together before Birkat HaMazon) and all of a sudden wants to continue his meal and not begin Birkat HaMazon, he has to say a Beracha on a beverage and can continue eating without a Beracha. However, before eating he should think of the Beracha (say it in his head) usually said on that specific food.

CLD #409

For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
Nothing is wrong with Yoga.
Actually, everything is great about Yoga (except when doing it with the opposite sex because that goes against Halacha). Yoga is something that is healthy, it opens up your breathin system (cardio) and just helps you relieve stress. It also greatens possibility of having a longer life and it is just physically benefitial in everyway. If taught well, Yoga can really reduce stress and help you understand yourself better.
Yoga Yoga Yoga, its very easy to speak about Yoga and everyone will agree with me. But wait. Let’s start talking about something that has almost the SAME EXACT BENEFITS as Yoga and many people have many objections towards following and believing.
The Gemara is a piece of Torah, it is a piece of Divinity, it is a piece of G-D, it is a piece of Genius (the word genius is not even enough for the wisdom of the Holy Gemara). The Gemara is the physical Yoga of the mind, and the spiritual Yoga of the Nefesh (soul).
We need to understand that all the benefits to Yoga do not even match ONE BENEFIT of learning the Gemara. Besides the fact that the holy Gemara (the Talmud, Oral Torah) gives one intellectual benefit that is based on consistency, the Gemara also purifies. The Gemara, the Oral Torah, is considered one of the most legitimate sources of Truth and Wisdom in the History of the World.
And guess what? We are commanded to stretch our mind’s potential by learning it everyday and every night! Hashem says to completely delve our lives into the Oral Torah and written Torah. Even though we receive so many benefits from this, the highest level to attain is to learn Torah because G-d commanded us too. It sounds very simple, but it isn’t.

For Women the equivalency of receiving the benefits from learning Torah is by wearing Modest Clothing, married women covering their hair, etc.

B’H we should all chase after Mitzvot and realize the privilege of being born Jewish because only less than 0.02% have that privilege. Being a Jew means you have a direct connection with Hashem. If one really believes that Hashem is listening to him/her RIGHT NOW and they pray for something with all their heart, they will see what they asked for guaranteed (unless you pray that Hashem does what is best for you and maybe what you are wishing for is not best for you).

KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEHOO BEN HAOLAM HABA

L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester, Shahin Shmuel ben Hadassa & Israel Ben Rivka.
From Yalkut Yosef:

1. It is a Mitzvah to run to Bet Knesset (Shul), but it is prohibited to run out of Bet Knesset (when exiting). Whoever has the choice to walk or drive to Bet Knesset, one should walk there. If the Bet Knesset is far away or one wants to get there early or is in a rush, one can drive there. When arriving, one should park their car a little farther than expected just to gain more Mitzvot by having more steps to take to Bet Knesset.

2. It is correct that everyone should be accustomed to eating Pat Shacharit (Kazayit -27 grams- of bread) after the Shacharit Tefillah in order to be strong and healthy for Avodat Hashem, Tefillah and Learning Torah (doing Mitzvot and following in the way of G-d).

3. After one leaves Bet Knesset for Tefillat Shacharit they should go to the Bet Midrash (Torah Learning Center/Yeshiva) to set up a time to learn Torah daily. This set time should be permanent and concrete in one’s schedule, and one should not distance away from this schedule even if it means to lose a lot financially. This means when one sets their set time of Daily Torah Learning they should think really well what time is best for that.

KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEHOO BEN HAOLAM HABA

L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester, Shahin Shmuel ben Hadassa & Israel Ben Rivka.
From Yalkut Yosef:

1. Batei Knisiyot (Synagogues) and Batei Midrashot (Study Rooms to learn Torah) are called “Mikdash Me’at,” a ‘Mini-Bet HaMikdash (Temple of Yerushalayim). Purity is held in these places. Therefore, one should be cautious to behave in Fear of Heaven and with respect in these places, to always make sure to clean after themselves and to always light a candle out of Respect in these places.

2. In Batei Knisiyot and Batei Midrashot one does not act with lack of respect, with silliness and a joking manner, which includes speaking conversation that does not include any Torah or Mitzvah-related issues. One should always be stringent with this Halacha, because in our day the public has made this act of silliness in these places ‘allowed.’ One is even allowed to calmly and respectful remind people who are acting in the wrong way to respect the holiness of these places.

CLD #408

For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester & the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara.
Be’ezrat Hashem we will have the zchut to experience the reading of Parashat Noach in the upcoming Shabbat. Background info: Noach is approximately 10 generations before Avraham Avinu and was in a generation full of the worst possible sinners.
However, there is only ONE CLEAR SIN that is stated in the Torah in the Parasha: “Hamas,” which caused Hashem’s anger and decision to destroy the world.
Hamas means robbery.
What can we see from here? That from all the worst of the worst sins, all types of adultery, idol-worship, eating non-Kosher, breaking Shabbat, taking interest from another Jew, murdering, and even something simple like having a frown (even though these are all grave sins and no one should take them lightly) all are not on the same level as the sins that are Ben Adam LeChavero (between Man and his Fellow).
What was the Hamas, robbery, and what was the act they actually did? Rav Levy at Hok L’Yisrael shiur this morning in Queens explained that one would want to come sell fresh apples in the market. A nice amount would be on the table, all with sprinkled water on top and juicy. A group of people would come together and each would force the seller to give them a single apple to try. By the time the group would fake their smiles and interests into actually paying, the seller would have almost no inventory to make profit. The seller now cannot go sue anyone because its only ONE apple per person and he cannot prove it’s a planned robbery. This disgusting act between man and his fellow is hated by Hashem.

The Orchot Tzadikkim also writes in Sha’ar HARachamim (the Mercy Chapter) that out of a sack of sins, the one that stands out the most and is the heaviest in the eyes of Hashem is Gezel, or robbery.

Be’ezrat Hashem we should run away from sins and distance ourselves from the bad, because we know returning to Hashem and being close to Him is the happiest life. No one wants to carry with them a nice amount of Chata'im (sins), because we all know its not the right way to live.

SHAVUA TOV!

VIDEO OF THE WEEK!

There are always those who say that "If its not written in the Torah, than why should I do it?" Also: "Why do I have to follow something that some Rabbis said 2,000 years ago?!?!"

Here is a video to show that the Talmud - The Oral Torah is from Hashem also and has the same divine level as the Torah itself.
