L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester, Shahin Shmuel
ben Hadassa &
Israel Ben Rivka.
From Yalkut Yosef:
1. Forever one should get used to
saying “Kol Man De’Avid Rachmana Letav
Avid.” (translation=All that Hashem does, it is done for the good.
Basically Hashem only makes good things happen).
2. During Tefillat Shmoneh Esreh (Amidah) one should hold
both his/her hands together on his/her heart with the right hand covering the
left and should stand in front of Hashem in awe, trepidation and fear. One
should avoid placing his/her hands on the hips because it is a sign of pride
(Ga’ava, Yuhara=the worst type of characteristic towards G-d). However, today
many people do not follow this and they have something to lean on (meaning its
okay according to Halacha), especially those who hold a Siddur to pray.
Nevertheless, one should absolutely avoid plcing their hands behind their body,
because it is not even respected to stand like this before Presidents.
