1. It is a big Chiyuv (obligation) for the sick to go to a doctor to be healed by the way of society. It is forbidden for this sick person to avoid going to the doctor and be healed in a natural way. A person who waits to be healed by nature is following the mindset of fools and in the ways of criminals. Whoever has an internal sickness has to act by the way of nature and must go to doctors and do what they say BUT need to depend on Hashem 100% instead of depending on the doctors. This person needs to explain to the doctors that he/she is seeing them for assistance only because Halacha says so.
2. Even though the sick cannot base their faith on the doctors and can ONLY rely on Hashem, the sick still needs to listen to all the doctor’s orders. Therefore if the doctor tells the sick that it is dangerous to fast on Yom Kippur (even if it is doubtfully dangerous), the sick person needs to listen to the doctor and eat on Yom Kippur.
