KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEHOO BEN HAOLAM HABA

L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester. Also for SHALOM in Eretz Yisrael!
From Yalkut Yosef:

1. During Aseret Yemei Tshuva one should think about his/her actions, do Tshuva (repent), to do more Ma’asim Tovim (good deeds), and Tzedakot (greaten the giving of charity). Throughout the year the Gemara in Kiddushin teaches us to perceive our religious status as “Benonim” (in between Tzaddikim <reightous> and Resha’im <wicked>). This means that ONE Mitzvah puts us in the Tzadik category and the same for the opposite. Even though Tshuva is ‘beautiful’ for the world, even more so the Tshuva is seen as beautiful during these days of Tshuva and is accepted as full repentance immediately.

2. Just like one needs to do Tshuva from doing ‘active’ sins, just like G-d forbid Chillul Shabbat (desecrating Shabbat by driving for example), theft, or immoral sexual acts; so too one needs to do Tshuva from having wicked Middot (characteristics). Therefore one needs to begin (if he/she haven’t already started) to distance themselves from being angry, jealous, having the addiction to chase after money, greed, Kavod (unhealthy respect), etc. When a Rasha (wicked) leaves his/her way and returns to Hashem, Hashem will only greaten His forgiveness.

CLD #392

For the Lyilui Nishmat of Avraham ben Ester & the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara. Also for SHALOM in Eretz Yisrael!
Baruch Hashem we had the zchut to attend a live shiur given by Rav Eli Mansour shlit’a. With all the enthusiasm at such a late hour, it shows what a real Heart devoted to the Torah Hakdosha and Hashem needs to be like.
The Rav explained that Yom Kippur is like Hashem wrapping us with a clean white towel after cleaning us thoroughly from our stench of Bad Ma’asim (actions/sins). But even more so, he explained how our generation is part of a world order that is being overthrown, its actually the Yetzer Hara’s power. Baruch Hashem that we all have such strong Emunah (faith), because we can clearly see that Hashem is controlling the entire world with the constant changes that are taking place throughout the globe. Whether it be financial, power oriented, or simply the structure of society; everything is chaning before our eyes like never before.
The whole world is waiting for something. For Mashiach.
Rav Mansour explained it in a beautiful way, he simply said the time of the Mashiach is actually like musical chairs. We are in the time before the Music stops and everyone needs to find a chair quickly.
What is the ticket to our chair? The reservation in the times of the Mashiach to be ‘set’ and ‘hooked up’ so we are not left behind? Its actually the idea of Tshuva.
Repentance is key today! RIGHT NOW!
We can all deeply look into ourselves and reach a level so deep and personal and speak to G-d from that point. We just need to say: Hashem HELP ME want to get CLOSER to you! Help me understand that I am already so close to you and I am no different than any Tzadik. All I need to do is simply want to change and do real Tshuva, because in the end of the day, I am all alone and only I can decide what to do.
When someone does Tshuva, musical chairs does NOT exist, because there is room for everyone.

Its time to be REAL with ourselves and ask ourselves: Why am I in this world?
What is my purpose?

Bruchim HaBa’im (welcome) to Aseret Yemei Tshuva (10 days of Repentance). Welcome to the NEW YOU!
Yom Kippur is in 5 days. Are you ready?

From Yalkut Yosef:

1. During the Aseret Yemei Tshuva (10 days of Repentance from Rosh HaShanah till Yom Kippur), one adds in Amida “HaMelech HaKadosh” instead of “Ha-El HaKadosh” and “HaMelech HaMishpat” instead of “HaMelech Ohev Tzedaka UMishpat.” Also one should end Amida (Shmoneh Esreh) with “Oseh HaShalom Bimromav…” instead of “Oseh Shalom Bimromav.”

2. There are those who say that just like during Rosh HaShanah one who sleeps has his/her luck ‘sleep’ throughout the year, so too during the Aseret Yemei Tshuva one should avoid sleeping during the day. However, these words are not correct and one should not be worried about sleeping during the daytime of Aseret Yemei Tshuva.
