All
donations are going to our current CLD Fundraising Project: Collecting money
for a
bride
in need, who is getting married NEXT MONDAY NIGHT!
Rabbi Abahu says: From
what time [in the year] do we begin blessing [in the Amida the Mevarech
HaShanim blessing for] the rain? Answer: When the Khatan (Groom) goes out to the Kalah (Bride). This one
liner in the Gemara of Ta’anit on Page 6b gets deep enough to literally change
our life. There are many questions about this one-liner. What does a bride and
groom have to do with blessing for rain and how does the answer When the groom goes out to the bride
answer the question?
Rashi on this Gemara explains the answer that when the
raining season begins and there are puddles of rain deep enough so a drop would
fall into it causing a ripple effect then the congregations can begin blessing
for rain in the winter. This type of drop into a puddle is also similar to the
love between a groom and his bride.

Where is the truth? When
do we bless on the rain? When the Khatan goes out to the Kallah. When do we
see blessing in rain, when do we see blessing in our financial income (rain is
always linked to financial blessing and spirit from Hashem)? When the Khatan,
when a groom who has a Kallah (and soon G-d willing a family) to support and he
goes out for her.
Besides for the Gemara hinting to us that marriage and the
wife in general is the source for financial success (as seen in the Gemara and
throughout The Garden of Riches, the
book theCLD is still giving out), it is also telling us that the intention of
gaining wealth and bringing income is KEY TO BLESSING!

Be’ezrat Hashem, when
He decides to shower us with money may it be for Blessing and nothing else!
