KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEH'HOO BEN HA'OLAM HABA

For the Ilui Neshama (in memory) of Jonathan Roth,
Taken from Yalkut Yosef online (yalkut.info):

1.  Even though there is no mandatory law from the Jewish Code of Law to eat meat on Shabbat, because there is no obligation to be happy on Shabbat, in any case one should try to buy meat for the Shabbat meals. One should greaten their intake of meat and wine and other cooked foods based on their financial status. Whoever does not enjoy the consumption of meat may consume any other foods that greaten their enjoyment. One should go as far as minimizing their cosumption throughout the entire week just to save for the Shabbat meals. One should also avoid leaning on others for financial help, however, if one is not financially stable to buy enough food for two Shabbat meals they should go to Gabba'im to receive money for three Shabbat meals.

2. It is correct to eat fish on Shabbat. And one should try to eat fish during all three Shabbat meals, on a minimum level during the first and third meals. Whoever dislikes the taste of fish is not obligated to eat fish, because Shabbat was given to enjoy and not to suffer. One should wash their hands, clean their mouth and drink a beverage between fish and meat. If one ate the fish via a fork they can be lenient and avoid washing their hands to immediately eat meat.

Shabbat Shalom.
