CLD #626

For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L and Moshe ben Amelia Z'L.
Before the Neshama enters the world an Angel teaches it the entire Torah! What happens? The Angel touches the baby before it enters the world and the baby forgets the entire Torah it has been learning for the past 9 months.

Why should Hashem instruct an angel to do such a horrible thing! Let the baby leave the womb and know the Torah, who cares?! That way of running the world is what America wants us, society, to become. To be like robots. The songs we hear on the radio, the ads we see on the big billboards, the way the athletes act on Television, it is all one big distraction to get us focused on enjoyable but aimless matters.

No one said to stop playing sports, no one said to stop shopping, no one said to stop listening to music that is enjoyable and puts you in a good mood. But, we do have a Jewish Neshama (soul) that does crave Hashem and a life of Torah and kedusha (purity). Therefore, we must understand to walk in the way of Hashem. Meaning, we listen to their music and we wear their clothes but in our hearts we always have a fire lit for Hashem and for the Torah and for the respect of the Rabbanim of the generation, because after all they are the ones who represent the Torah and Hashem’s way of living.

This all breaks down to the point of why Hashem instructed the angel to make us forget before we breathed into the operation room. Hashem does not want us to be like robots going over memorized Torah we already know since birth. He wants us ot work for it. To wake up in the morning and have our hearts yearning for Torah learning and concentration in Tefillah and overall craving to know when’s the next Simcha in the community where I can do Mitzvot of bringing more happiness to Am Yisrael, etc.

Judaism=Think.
Shavua Tov!
