For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L.
**Ta’anit Esther**
Fast Begins: 4:58am
Fast Ends: 6:35pm
As it says in the Gemara (Masechet Shabbat 75): In the beginning there is darkness, and
after there is light. Rav Shlomo Pinto shlita explained that Purim is all
about reaching the light, the salvation, the redemption, Hashem’s Hasgacha Pratit (Divine Providence) and
overall understanding of Hashem’s love for us. Before we reach the Crazy Big
Chag of Purim (and the spiritual light that comes with it) we need to dig a
little deeper under the Purim story and realize what troubles our holy
ancestors were in over 2000 years ago! [Isn’t it amazing how we still celebrate
something that happened thousands of years ago?! This shows the truth behind
the Holy Torah and the Pure history of our Nation.]
Imagine the entire world being ruled over a single ruler.
Who is that ruler? A foolish drunkard who has parties and just tries to bring
the Jewish people down spiritually (as it says in the Gemara Masechet Megillah
11a). Achashverosh ruled the entire world (Megillah 11a) and he literally gave
over the power of his kingdom to Haman only to obliterate the entire Jewish
nation.

Then out of nowhere Haman goes on a Huge Bugout: “If you say
you can’t obliterate them because they are all concentrated in one spot in the
kingdom you don’t have an excuse because they are mixed throughout all the
nations. If you say you benefit from them you don’t have an excuse because they
are spread out in the kingdom and do not help it one bit as a whole. If you say
we can’t erase them from this earth because they all live in the same state
this is untrue because they are located all in different states. ON TOP OF THAT
their ideology and way of life is completely different then ours! They don’t
work! All they say is: Today is Shabbat, no work. Today is Pesach, no work. And
for the cherry on the whipped cream Haman adds: they also belittle the Kingship
and the King. How? If a bug falls into their wine glasses they will pluck it
out and drink, but if YOUR HIGHNESS pokes at one of their cups of wine they
thrash the glass on the floor before drinking it, no matter how expensive the
wine!”
