Masechet (The Tractate of) Megillah Page 3b: discusses the Halacha of a Walled City (which reads Megillat Ester on the 15th of Adar like Yerushalayim) that had its walls taken down and what that means. The Gemara continues to discuss between one Tanah (Sage) and another what it means that the Walled City was a Walled City and then lost its title as a walled city and then what happened.

In the end of the Page the Gemara explains that being the
Walled City lost its title as a Walled City had nothing to do with the Walls of
the City themselves, rather it is all focused around the Batlanim of the City. Who are the 10 famous Batlanim? Those are the
Ten distinguished people who stop their work in life to set aside their lives
to learn Torah and mainly be in the Shul of the City so the whole City has a
place to pray with a functioning minyan at all times. This is also a defense
mechanism against the anger of Hashem which takes place when a minyan is not present in a Shul, because it says
in Masechet Berachot (Daf Vav, 6) that whichever place that usually has a
minyan (10 people) and they do not succeed to gather a minyan for whatever
reason, Hashem becomes angry.
Be’ezrat Hashem we will understand in our minds that
holiness and overall Kedusha behind having a set place of Limud Torah and
Hashkamat Bet HaKnesset (Torah Learning and Waking up for Shul). The fact that
10 Jews coming together brings everlasting happiness to Hashem is so big that
it cannot fit in our spiritually low cognition. We need to always support those
setting their lives for Limud Torah, which is the engine horsepower for the
world’s continuance.
We can do it and if
we think we can we are slaves to our Yetzer Hara (Evil Inclintation). The only
thing in our way is ourselves.
