For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
Doing Averot (sins) is like being addicted to
candy.
Everyone knows the best tasting foods are
usually the worst for you in regards to health. The same goes for the Spiritual
World. When one does an Avera, he/she first becomes attached to it in some way.
The body begins to build a craving mechanism for it. The body begins to change
to accept that it is a part of its normal intake.
After a while, even if it means to chase after
it and ruin your entire day, the craving becomes so bad that it seems like the
RIGHT THING to do.
When a Jew gets to this level, he/she gives
themselves up to the Yetzer Hara, the Evil Inclination, and says “I Quit.” And
the harder thing to do is to BELIEVE that there IS a Yeshu’ah, a redemption that is nearby.
What is the key to this Yeshu’ah? It is to
pray to Hashem with all our hearts and yell to Him: “Aba, I believe in you, its
just so hardddd, PLEASE HELP ME.”
As it says in Ashrei (Perek 146 in Tehillim):
“Karov Hashem Lechol Korav Lechol Asher Yikre’u’hu Be’EMET.” Close is Hashem to
all the ones who Call to Him in TRUTH. What does it mean “in Truth?” It means
with all your heart, with all your emotion, with all your power, with all your
strength, with all your feeling, and with all your mind.

Tonight in the non-Jewish calendar it is a
non-Jewish holiday. Look at what the non-Jews do on their holiday: drink, smoke
and follow in the path of sexual immorality in clubs and bars. What do we do on
our holidays? Isn’t it awesome we are commanded to be moral and act HUMAN.
Judaism=Think. What is my purpose?
What path am I taking?
