L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester Shahin Shmuel ben Hadassa & Israel Ben Rivka.
From Chazon Ovadya:
1. Even though there are those who are strict and don’t eat meat or drink wine from the night of Yud Zayin (17 of) Tammuz until after Tisha (9th of) Be’Av, the simple minhag (custom) is to refrain from eating meat from a day after Rosh Chodesh Av (which is Bet Av, 2nd of Av which began Monday Night, Aug 1st).
2. Whoever said a Bracha (blessed) on a piece of meat during the days where our custom is to refrain from eating meat, and suddenly after remembered during these days we do not eat meat, should taste a little bit from the meat, that the Bracha should not be LeVatala (the blessing he said should not have been said for nothing). By tasting this small piece of meat, one does not do this for Simcha (happiness, which is the reason we do not eat meat because of these days of morning for Am Yisrael) and not for the cancellation of this custom (not to eat meat).
Tisha BeAv begins in 5 nights. Are you ready?
