KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT KOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHE'HOO BEN HAOLAM HABA

L’yilui Nishamt Avraham ben Ester & Israel Ben Rivka.
From Ve’En Lamo Michshol:

1. There are those who say a person who causes one to fail in anger, unhealthy pride, arrogance, or any other bad characteristics fails in placing an obstacle in front of the blind (Lifne Iver Lo Titen Michshol), meaning causing one to fail. There are those who disagree and say only if someone literally causes one to sin then it is indeed prohibited to do a certain action, and causing one to have bad characteristics is not relevant. However, one who causes his/her friend to become angry in order to lead them in the way of Hashem, this person should not be rebuked. So too with the one who praises his/her friend, unless it turns into an unhealthy type of praise (Ga’ava).

2. One who hits his/her older child violates the prohibiton of placing an obstacle in front of the blind, or simply leading another to fail, because this can cause the child to become rude and even fight back.
