Everything is from G-d. The Garden of Emuna is a book that at length speaks about G-d's hand in our lives. When we say "Echad" in the line of "Shma Yisrael," Chazal tell us to have the kavana (intention) that says that G-d is in control of everything. However G-d has also given us the zchut of having bchira chofshit, or free choice. We certainly all have the bchira (choice) to destroy the world. We have the bchira to hurt someone on the train, or make immodest winks at girls, or be rude to a waitress at the restaurant, be extra nice to older people at the movies, or even want to hurt someone in a lounge. It all comes down to our choice throughout the events of the day.
It is difficult to get accustomed to surrendering to the way of the Torah and letting go of our instinct.
