For the Ilui Neshama of Jonathan Roth,
From the book Halacha
Berurah:
1. The time to say Birkot
HaShachar lehatichila (the best
alternative to say the blessings of the morning) is from the moment one awakens
until Tzet HaKochavim (nightfall).
Whoever forgot to say Birkot HaShachar before Tefillat Shaharit (the morning prayer) and only remembered to say
them after Shaharit should say them once remembering without the section of Elokai Neshama (written in
Siddurim).
2. One who woke up in the middle of the night and wants to
learn or even recite Holy Scripture must say Birkot HaTorah (the blessings in
the Siddur, prayer book, immediately after Birkot HaShachar) even if one only
napped in the night. What are the limits to this ruling? This ruling stands
when one has slept in their bed, even if they still have their workday clothing
on and not pajamas. Whoever awoke in the morning and forgot to say Birkot
HaTorah before Tefillat Shaharit and remembered only after the Tefillah (morning
prayer) does not return to say Birkot
HaTorah because they already fulfilled their obligation say it in the Beracha
before Shema Yisrael, in the Beracha
of Ahavat Olam.
