CLD #721

Baruch Hashem we can always learn chizuk (inspiration) from everything and anything as long as we put our minds to it. If someone really wants to enter a world of living the Torah, which is probably one of the toughest things to do, they must push themselves to look at the world with ‘Jewish’ eyes. This can only be done at first through vigorous effort in everyday actions and try to see Hashem through at least some of the things that happen throughout the day.

I was honestly thinking all day what to write on theCLD. Recently I saw on TV (not that I watch it, it was just on where I was at) and a commercial was playing “Live For Now” for Pepsi. I wanted to write about that but its too cliché, we all know that Judaism is the exact opposite of Live For Now. Actually, living the Jewish life is the best life “for now,” however; we often ignore the spark that pushes us to maybe try a religious life because we do not believe that living for Olam Haba (the next world) grants us the best life in this world.

Thank G-d I was comparing two different tea bags, the regular Litpon tea and another brand that is my personal favorite and theCLD just flew into my head like a bow and arrow. When we place a Lipton tea bag in hot water it floats on top of the water, however; this (probably) more expensive personal favorite just sunk into the water. Also, I wanted to see how the natural water pressure regarding osmosis works, meaning the traveling of substance in and out of water (in this case the tea leaving the bag and going into the water).

From this we learn two things about the spiritual world and my own spiritual identity. The first is sometimes we need to break out of the norm and try new things and become “my own brand.” If we want to truly get close to G-d it is best to step out of the natural flow of life and friends and just to start doing it. Being the personal brand tea bag that no one knows of shows us that it is much easier to sink into the water and diffuse into another environment. However, when we look at the Lipton tea, or the follower, we see that it just floats on top of the water and it is much harder to become one with the water. It is much tougher to become one with Hashem if we do not choose to step out of our comfort zone.

The second thing the tea bag teaches us about the spiritual world is the simple and natural phenomenon of osmosis (traveling of substances in water). The tea bag is simply put in hot water and even if left alone diffuses into the water. This teaches us that it takes time to change and we cannot jump into Judaism like a firework. We must take it step by step KNOWING THAT THERE IS A NEXT STEP and NOT staying stuck in the previous step.

B’H this CLD and its power of all of you readers (and me) getting inspired from it should stand for the right candidate for Am Yisrael around the world to be chosen tomorrow in the elections. We honestly do not know what is BEST for all of the Jewish Nation around the globe, even though it is basically obvious Obama is a disaster for Israel; but maybe if he is elected it is best for our home?

Judaism=Think.
