For the Ilui
Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel For the Refua Shlema of Yaakov Hai
ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. If one forgot to say the Beracha of HaMotzi (on bread) it is good if the person has more bread to eat
and then says the Beracha (blessing) of HaMotzi on what is left. If one ended
his/her meal and cannot eat more bread, they may not say the Beracha of HaMotzi
after the meal. If one is in doubt if he/she said HaMotzi on their meal (bread)
they may not say HaMotzi and may continue eating (because when in doubt we do
not say Berachot to be cautious not to go over the prohibition of saying
Hashem’s name in vain). If one can, they should simply listen to the Beracha of
Hamotzi from another individual and
have in mind to fulfill the obligation by hearing it from them.
2. There is a prohibition to eat before feeding one’s own
animal. Therefore,if one has a friend’s animal in his courtyard and he/she
wants to eat, they do not have to feed the animal before eating unless they are
responsible for feeding it.
Shabbat Shalom!
