For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L and Haviva bat Yocheved Z’L.
Hashem’s
‘royal chariot’ is made up of four faces: the face of a man, an eagle, a lion
and an ox. The question is why specifically must these animals/living things be
chosen to be on the royal chariot of Hashem discussed in the first Perek
(chapter) of Yehezkel?
The
answer is remarkable. All of these 4 species are the rulers, leaders,
controllers of their group. The human is the one who is most proud, on top of
all. The eagle is the champion of all birds. Any bird breaks fear just by
seeing the eagle in sight! The ox is the leader of all the beasts. And finally
the lion is king of all the hayot, the animals.
These
are the four faces seen on the ‘chariot of Hashem.’ Obviously we do not
understand the depth behind all of this because its all part of the Sod in the
Torah (Kabbalah), but at the same time we learn a crucial point of Judaism.
Hashem
is above all of us. We can run around all day doing our activities, shopping
for all the things we need, working for our family to be able to shop for
necessities, running to finish our degrees, to pray at the next minyan, to set
up the next shiur bH; but in the end of the day its all up to Hashem. Hashem’s
chariot is made up of these four animals because He wants to show that even
though they can be leading and in control of their little groups, in the end of
the day I am the one in charge!
Therefore,
don’t be upset why you failed spiritually, financially or physically. Don’t be
depressed or give up on that impossible task. Hashem wanted you to fail in order to see if you'll get back up even stronger! After all, Hashem is giving us
the strength to live and function. Therefore, what is stopping me from praying to Hashem
to help me even more?
Nothing.
So go open up a Tehillim or run to minyan tomorrow morning, because that is
where the success is uncovered. You can do it, Hashem believes in you. Believe in yourself as well. Spirituality is something we can all grasp.
Judaism=Think.
