For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel
For the Refua Shlema of Chai Yaakov ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. If one does not have a head covering (kippa, hat, etc.)
it is not enough to place their own hand on their head to say a Beracha, rather
they should stretch out their sleeve and place it on their head and only then
say the Beracha. According to Maran Bet Yosef one’s own hand is not enough to
replace a head covering.
2. One does not answer Amen to his/her own Beracha. However,
one does answer Amen to their own Beracha when one says many Berachot at once,
such as following Birkat Boneh Yerushalayim in Birkat HaMazon and Birkat
HaShalom in Amida and the Birkot of the Haftarah on Shabbat.
