CLD #613

For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L.

ויאמרו אל כל עדת בני ישראל לאמר הארץ אשר עברנו בה לתור אתה טובה הארץ מאד מאד
Bamidbar 14:7

Yehoshua and Kalev were the only Meraglim in the group who followed the instructions of Moshe Rabbenu. What did Moshe ask the Meraglim to do before going into Eretz HaKodesh? He asked them Latur et Ha’Aretz, act like Tourists. What does that mean? Go into the Aretz we all have been journeying for two years to walk into TO LOOK FOR THE GOOD IN IT. Tourists go on trips to countries to visit the wonders of the location they are staying by, if its Israel there is Yam HaMelah, The Kotel, Eilat’s beautiful coral reefs, The miracle of the Kinneret, the rich fruits of the Galil, etc.

After coming back from Eretz HaKodesh with HUGE Grapes and fruits, the Meraglim complained and causes a huge ruckus, as discussed in the previous CLD. However, there were only two individuals that were saved from the Lashon Harah and severe death punishment later: Kalev and Yehoshua. What did they say? They told the entire Am (nation): the land that we traveled through Latur, meaning as TOURISTS and not critics, is Tovah MEOD MEOD (very very much good).

If you count the Gematria of Meod Meod together it comes out to 45 x 2 = 90. With the Kollel (the word itself=1) it comes out to 91. Ninety-One is a powerful number in Gematria because it resembles one of Hashem’s names that consists of 91 letters. This means if we replace the words in the Pasuk that describe their POSITIVE outlook on Eretz Yisrael we can see that Kalev and Yehoshua in other words are saying the land they passed to TOUR it is Hashem. What does that mean in simpler terms?

Everything is under Hashem’s control, and if He told us that last two years that it is amazing and full of Milk and Honey and rich natural elements that means that it is GUARANTEED. The same goes for keeping Mitzvot, as we learn from Masechet Berachot, when one finds Hashem they find LIFE.

B’H we should continue seeking the beauty of living a life of Torah and Mitzvot in full Simha.

SHAVUA TOV!
