For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel
For the Refua Shlema of Chai Yaakov ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. One should place both their feet side by side until they
seem to be like a single foot, and it is not enough to stand in Amida with both
heels touching each other. And bediavad
(the least best way), one still fulfills their obligation of praying Amida even
without placing both feet together. One should also try bringing their feet
together for Kedusha (Nakdishach/Nekadesh…). If there is a sick or old
individual they fulfill the obligation of Amida Lechatchila (the best possible way) even without having their feet
side by side when it is difficult for them to do so.
2. If one is praying on a train or on a moving vehicle lechatchila (it is best) to put their
feet side by side and pray, however; if one has difficulty doing so they should
not give up on Tefillah (Amida prayer) because they cannot succeed to place
their feet side by side. One should then pray while standing with feet apart from
each other rather than sitting down with their feet side by side.
