For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel
For the Refua Shlema of Chai Yaakov ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Rav Ovadya’s Halacha Yomit:
1. This year Shevii Shel Pesach (7th day of
Pesach, Chag Sheni, Pesach Yom Tov) falls on Erev Shabbat (Thursday
Night-Friday Night) and therefore one cannot cook food for Shabbat On Yom Tov
unless they do Eruv Tavshilin. The
bread and cooked food that needs to be made on Yom Tov has a few Halachot that
fits with it. It is common for one to bake bread (in our case Matzah) and have
a hard boiled egg.
2. One says a Beracha with Hashem’s name fully and a couple
lines in Aramaic that says “With this eruv
I am allowed to bake and cook and light candles and do whatever is needed from
Yom Tov for Shabbat.” One should finish all preparations for Shabbat the
earliest time during Yom Tov and eat the food as soon as possible on Shabbat
day.
