For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L.
Baruch Hashem we can use everything we do and everyone we
interact with to help our connection with Hashem. In Intro to Psychology at
Baruch College we looked into the chapter on the study of behavior. This
chapter included the framework behind the brain and the human nervous system.
As common knowledge explains, our bodies have been created
Hashem through an extraordinary amount of chochma
and the highest upon highest forms of wisdom. We can simply see this
through the entowrk of neurons and nerves throughout the human body. Forget
mastering the are of the human brain, that alone already puts our minds at work
that is too much to handle.
So how do nerves/neurons work? Basically there is an
electric current that runs through our body along connecting neurons from a
certain point all the way up to the brain and back down. For example, typing on
the keys on my keyboard right now creates an endless amount of electricity to
flow throughout the millions of neurons in my fingers all the way to my brain
and back all in ultra quick speed so the body can function with the Help of
Hashem properly.
What does this have to do with the Torah, with Judaism and
with our daily lives? In order for something to function properly, and in our
example it is the human body with the appropriate neurons and electric current;
we must have action potentials (which is what the active electric current is
called) in order to begin the flow of electricity to ignite these neurons to
send throughout the body information to the brain. In our lives what makes us live,
and most importantly who helps us live properly? Besides for Hashem (obviously)
who gives us life and practically everything we own, we have our Rabbis to
direct us to the proper life of connecting with Hashem on an appropriate
spiritual level at different times.

Therefore we must appreciate appreciate appreciate that we
have spiritually enormous Rabbanim to direct us to a life of happiness with a
true connection to G-d.

Shabbat Shalom!
B’H Much Simcha (happiness).
