For the L’yilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester, Shahin Shmuel ben Hadassa & Israel Ben Rivka.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef:
1. Its good and correct for one to
try not to speak anything unimportant when he/she begins their day. This means
one should begin using the power of their voice to do a Mitzvah by saying
Birkot HaShachar (the blessings of the morning) and Birkot HaTorah and then go
straight to Tefillah.
2. Every Jew should praise Hashem 100 times by saying 100
Berachot (blessings) everyday. If one eats three meals during the day, he/she
accomplishes this goal of 100 Berachot (including the 19 Berachot in each
Amida). There are those who say that these 100 Berachot watch over the person
from the 98 Curses that are written in the Torah against those that distance
from Hashem (plus the worda “Kol Choli VeKol Macah,” which means All diseases
and all types of lashes).
