For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben
Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
Thank G-d for Shabbat, without these 25 hours
of rest and feasting, I don’t know how I would be able to continue my week. Besides for the relaxation and the 25 hours of uplifting
and inspiring 'connection starters' with Hashem, the Shabbat provides for a break
from my cell phone, my TV, any Radio or annoying advertising and even a break
from the world (which is healthy for the brain once a week).
Thank You Hashem for Shabbat!
During Shul on Shabbat there was something
that really struck me. It gave me so much Chizuk that it made me say: this is
definitely CLD worthy.
What happened?
A man walked into Shul with his 3 year old boy
(around that age) and he told the boy quietly to go kiss the Aron HaKodesh
(where the Sifrei Torah dwell). The boy with confidence began to walk, and
every couple of seconds (the Aron was just a 10 foot distance from his father)
he would turn around and look to see if his father is still there to protect
him just in case something goes wrong. After the second ‘turn-around’ the child
realized so many people were just staring at him. He hesitated and began to
slow down. Only after the child searched for his father a few feet away did he
continue to the Aron to kiss it.
What does this teach us? Am Yisrael is like
the little child and the father in the story is like Hashem lehavdeel. We are brought into this
world to “kiss the Aron HaKodesh,” to gather more Mitzvot and get closer to
Hashem and then return to Him. Unfortunately, Hashem gives Man the choice to
get closer to Him or not. When the child sees many people, the Other Nations,
staring at him, then he slows down. Only after the child, Am Yisrael, sees his
father, Hashem, behind him and pushing him to follow in his way; only then is
he able to continue and accomplish the goal of kissing the Aron. The same is
with us! We need to stick it in our heads that Hashem is behind our backs.
Whether it means to close the business on Saturday because its SHABBAT KODESH
or avoid our past friends because they only bring us down spiritually, we need
to understand that when we SACRIFICE for Hashem, He ALWAYS gives us so much
more.
It makes sense: when someone sees you care
about them, obviously they will do whatever they can to show the appreciation.
We learn about the spiritual world from the world we live in. Hashem is our
father. SPEAK TO HIM AND SEE THE RESULTS FOR YOURSELF. Prayer is power.
Judaism=Think. Why was I brought into this world?
SHAVUA TOV!
