CLD #395

For the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi ben Sara & Binyamin ben Blanka.
The mobile carrier providers probably have the most annoying Customer Service Care Centers in the world! Let’s say you suddenly have a surcharge on your monthly bill. $14.95 for some Jennifer Lopez ringtone. Great!
You pick up your phone, dial and wait till the automatic voice tells you: “Welcome to _____ Customer Service Line. We will be happy to serve you today… We’re sorry but our customer service lines are all busy. Please hold.” And then the worst Elevator Music EVER is put on. You just press “speaker” on your iPhone and wait till someone answers.
Obviously with the worst Indian accent: “Hello My name is Johnathan (he can barely pronounce it) My office ID # is 45J6RT7 and I am here at your service. Can I have the last 4 digits of the account holder’s Social Security Number…”
Ten minutes later (after being on hold for 3 or 4 times) you are speaking to the Supervisor of the Technological Difficulties department in the Customer Service Business Account Holders section of the company. After a ‘beautiful’ argument between the entire entourage of supervisors and you, you get a nice credit on your account.
But then you see you’re late to your next Chavruta/meeting/class/shiur by 10 minutes!
Was the call worth it? Only G-d knows.
Baruch Hashem theCLD is all about showing the Torah is all RELEVANT! From the Korbanot (sacrifices) in the Beit HaMikdash to the Mitzvah Lo Ta’aseh of Sha’atnez (prohibition of wearing linen with wool).

So what does this 1-800 Number have to do with anything whatsoever?

Aseret Yemei Tshuva is almost over. We are given 10 days to do Tshuva (repent) and get closer with Hashem. Or just try to START a connection with Hashem. It’s a time to improve (if you are at the 96th level of Tshuva or 5 levels from even beginning Tshuva, doesn’t matter)! This entire act of supervisors and being on hold and all that ‘lovely’ stuff is a symbol of the entire year. We can do Tshuva throughout the entire year, but the process is slowed down due to the spiritual level the world is held at.
However, during the past Chodesh (month) of Elul up until Yom Kippur are days of ABSOLUTE RACHAMIM (mercy) from Shamayim! Hashem is making so easy, as if He is the ‘supervisor’ who will call the client for Customer Service. The Client just needs to show some effort that he/she is part of the Mobile Carrier Company of Hashem.
We need to show signs that we are JEWISH. All it takes is one single Beracha (blessing) or one Maaseh Tov (good deed) or even one Tefillah to Hashem (prayer, can be on the subway or in bed before you sleep) that tells Him: I want to do Tshuva!

We just need to want spirituality and Hashem provides the spiritual help.

Yom Kippur is in 3 days.
3 Nights of Selichot left, 3 Night of Mercy left.
Are you going to take advantage of it?
