For the
Lyilui Nishmat of Avraham ben Ester & the Refua Shlema of Mordechai Tzvi
ben Sara. Also for SHALOM in Eretz Yisrael!
Pressure.
The Yetzer
Hara’s great tactic to use to get someone to fail at Avodat Hashem and the
accomplishment of doing Mitzvot is putting pressure on someone in anyway
whatsoever. The Yetzer Hara brings people to a situation where there is no time
left to get anywhere on time!
Believe it
or not, Time Management does not begin in the working world at age 22 after
college, or at 14 after middle school, rather time management and avoiding
pressuring moments comes at the age of thirteen (for a boy) or twelve (for a
girl). This is the time when someone takes upon him/herself the lifetime work
of Avodat Hashem (and keeping Torah & Mitzvot).
For example,
this month we are all going through the big Nisayon (spiritual ‘test’) of
waking up extra early (or staying up late) for the holy Tefilla of Selichot,
which completely wakes the heart up to get ready for Yom HaDin (Judgement Day,
or Rosh HaShanh). The average Jew needs to take into account the one hour
change that will be inserted into the person’s next 30 days! Instead of going
to sleep at 12:45am and waking up at 7, go to sleep at 11pm, wake up at 5:30
and go to Selichot with Nachat, with relaxation, with a fresh start to a
beautiful day.
We need to
understand that a Jewish mind is always thinking, always trying to improve, and
always trying to figure out what is the next step in doing Avodat Hashem and
getting closer to our Boreh (Creator).
It all
begins NOW, it begins with Tshuva and it begins with YOUR decision.
No Excuses.
Elul = Tshuva.
Yom Kippur is in 34 days!
Rosh HaShanah is in 24 days!
Selichot is TONIGHT!
SHAVUA TOV!
