From Ve’En Lamo Michshol:
1. A man (13 years old+) is not allowed to be with a woman (3 years old+) in a private place, or in a public place where people are not found, because they are likely to sin (in a place where there is no shame from other people, Yetzer Hara misleads man more than when man is with people). There is no difference if a man comes to be with a young and pretty woman, or an old and ugly woman, because in both cases Yetzer Hara comes to make the man and woman fail by sinning together.
2. A man is allowed to be in a secluded place (to be in Yichud with) his mother and his daughter, and can even live with them permanently, because the Yetzer Hara does not involve himself in these situations to make them fail to sin. The same foes for a woman with her father and her son.
