Baruch Hashem I had the zchut of being in a Shiur Torah after Arvit tonight. As the Shiur was going on, all of a sudden one of the Gaba’im of the Beit Mikdash walked into the room with a little boy. Out of nowhere everyone began to smile.
A little boy walking into a room made everyone smile. Why does that make sense? What is the reason behind it?
Its because of the Kdusha that rests in a child’s heart. An adult, especially over the age of Bar Mitzvah when Hashem activates the Yetzer Hara, has all sorts of Nisyonot (spiritual tests), battles within him/herself, and just plain responsibility, so this causes a tougher challenge to reach a place of solitude and true Emunah to know that Hashem is with you all the way, which then causes a limit on one’s happiness. A child does not even get close to that level.
A child is like Am Yisrael, or at least what we need to wake up and realize what we need to become. A child depends 100% on his/her parents. If its food, clothing, shelter, bedding, even going to the bathroom! Everything is under the parents’ control. The same is with Am Yisrael and Hashem! Hashem takes care of us ALL THE TIME!
Also a child has a sense of purity and honesty. Children are known to be honest and connect with Hashem directly if taught properly that there is a G-d that controls the world. When something happens, a child records it forever and is not embarrassed to say it because it is simply the truth, that’s it. The honesty behind a child is what we all need to learn from to reach. Especially now with the upcoming Slichot and Chagim of Din (judgment), Tachanunim and Tshuva (Repentance)!
B’H we should all live lives of Kdusha, Honesty and simple Tshuva to let our hearts open up to Hashem!SHAVUA TOV.
