From Yalkut Yosef:
1. One cannot pray Tefillat Shmoneh Esreh (Prayer) by sitting on a chair, a bench, or in a high place, because one cannot pray before Hashem from a high place. If someone did pray in a high place, he/she still fulfilled the obligation of Tefillat Shomeh Esreh but in the least best way (BeDi’eved).
2. The sick or Old in age are allowed to pray Tefillat Shomeh Esreh while sitting on a chair or on a bed. A healthy person who did pray on a chair or a bed does not have to repeat Shomeh Esreh because he/she fulfilled the obligation of Tefillah.
