Today was the Levaya (Hashem Yerachem Lo Alenu) of one of the biggest Rabbanim in Eretz HaKodesh, and in all the world: Rav Michal Yehuda Lefkowitz ZT’L (Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovitch). It does not matter if you are Spharadi, Ashkenazi, Temani, Marrocai, Blue, Black, Beige or Brown.
A Gdol HaDor has passed away. One would think that an old person is simply just an old person and a couple people need to show up to the funeral out of respect. But not in the Jewish World, the Real World> the Olam Haze! If a star passes away at an old age, barely anyone shows up to the funeral. But how does it make sense that there are tens of thousands of people (according to yiddish website: 100,000 people) come to escort a Neshama to Olam Haba?!?!?!
Because of our natural ability that Hashem gave us to sense the Emet (the Truth=the Torah). Al Pi HaRav Darmoni shlit’a: Hashem gave us this sense of Emet, to recognize the difference between Emet and Sheker.
Just from the simple headline reading of a Big Rabbi who passes away one can understand what the Koach of the Torah is! This Jew who passed away today was 97, with a full life of the Torah HaKdosha, the Emet, the Truth!
When a star passes, there is no longer any entertainment to benefit the audience, no free shirts/sweaters are being given out, no food is properly distributed throughout the fans, no drinks, etc. So at a funeral the audience does not take anything with them anymore, so they are not there to respect the dead star because he/she does not have anything to give to his audience anymore. LEHAVDEEL (to be different) how much more so is the Huge Rav Michal Yehudah ZT’L?!?!
All the Yehudim went there today for his Torah HaKdosha, his Chiddushim that he brought into this world, the words of Chizuk that woke up the hearts of Yehudim across the world, and even more so what he left behind>>>the teachings and way of life to help continue the world of Yeshivas, Kollelim, Midreshiyot, etc.!
B’H We had a zchut of being at such a huge Levaya. Just to summarize the number of people: From a roof overlooking the street where the body was carried it looked as if there was a field of blackberries, with the street packed with Black and White Dress Code and a few trees here and there.
At the same time theCLD wishes Am Yisrael to enjoy Rak B’Smachot.
