Someone told me today something unreal.
B’H he heard from another person from Yeshiva, who heard from a Kollel person, who heard from Rav Katz shlit’a a great answer regarding the idea of Nisim Gluyim (revealed miracles) in the time of the Tana’im of the Gemara (2000 years).Someone asked Rav Katz: How come in the time of the Gemara one person literally had a Nes happen for him/her, but now we barely see any Nisim. He answered: If someone is far away from you, he needs to seem different compared to the background. For example if someone far away from you is wearing a white shirt, there needs to be a black or even dark background behind him to help pin point the person from far away. However, if someone is near you, obviously you do not need any proof or contrast in order to see where the person is.
The same goes for our generation. When we BH look for Hashem, we can really reach a point where we see Hashem in front of our eyes. Due to the high level of our generation in terms of closeness to the days of Mashiach, we do not need ANY NISIM to prove that Hashem is here live and now!
What does this show? IT SHOWS US THAT WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR OUTLOOK ON YAHADUT AND OUR GENERATION. We always believe, because of the Yetzer Hara, that HAshem Yerachem, we are very far away from Hashem. But in reality, due to the lack of closeness that the world has with Hashem, in reality every little thing we do is actually huge compared to the world’s potential of what needs to be done in terms of Ruchaniyut (Sprituality).
B’H we should all learn to see that we have huge potentials in regards to Yahadut and living a life of Torah. We can all do it BH, its just all up to you taking the first step and then Hashem does the rest.
