Why do birds fly and humans don't?
Maybe you can say that we Humans have to use all our limbs and bones, veins, organs to serve Hashem fully. With wings, us Humans won't be able to serve G-d to our maximum ability. We wouldn't need as much sleep, eveyrhting would be easier. There would be no cars, no subways, no planes, no parking tickets (haha), etc. So why do we have feet, legs? Hashem wants us to use our limbs and our entire bodies, from our mental (neshama) realm to physical (guf) realm all for Mitzvot and Torah. He maybe wants us to push us to our limits to do Avodat Hashem.
For ex. if we had wings, we would be able to open our windows in our rooms, fly out and go pick up some flowers from the grocery down the block for our moms on Shabat, but no, we need to walk to our wallets, get money, walk downstairs, look for the car keys, walk to find a CD that we could listen to on the way, then get in the car, drive over to the grocery, park, go into the store, pay, and drive back. This is all so physical, but it has so many steps so we are able to get another Mitzvah each step. We do so much more when it is such a simple errand. The spiritual part is also huge.
The Gemara explains, the suffering/pain results in the reward. In life, the more you do, the more reward you receive. This shows that Hashem made it harder for Man to achieve things, because He knows that after we put in the effort, the reward is so much greater. In the end, the King, Hashem, just wants us to do good.
The only way to understand this is to see it from the Torah's prespective.
This is why in our Parasha, the tiny act of saying such a small juicy gossip story about someone has such heavy punishment! Usually in our world, the more influential, heavily deep, and true acts are harder to achieve.
Think about it ;D
