The Gemara HaKdosha brings a phrase that explains the concept of Reward for Mitzvot. "Lephoom Tzara Agra," With the Tza'ar (suffering/pain) comes the Reward. If two people are sitting down learning a daf of the Gemara HaKdosha and one is stable financially and ha sno problem with taking an hour out of his job and the other has credit card bills, debt, he can abrely pay his expenses, and is with 3 kids; guess who gets more "spiritual points?" We can all understand that the one putting more effort into the mitzvah gets more reward, whether its running after a couple for shiduch, learning the Torah, Kibud av ve'em, giving tzdaka, giving mussar in a smart fashion, doing ve'ahavta lere'echa kamocha, etc. Sometimes we need to step back and look at the big picture, we shouldn't focus on the bruise on my knee that's bothering me from helping someone walk across the street, or my tiny headache that gives me an excuse not to pay attention to someone teaching me torah.
At the end of the day Hashem rules over the world. There is nothing that we can do about it. Learning how to accept it is a lifetime's job.
Bracha Ve Hatzlacha in all you do :D.
