KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEH'HOO BEN HA'OLAM HABA

1.     One should check fruits and vegetables for bugs and insects before eating them; especially figs, strawberries, apricots, dates, and dried fruits in general.
2.     Fruit that comes from a tree that has existed for less than 3 years is forbidden. Since we follow the teaching that we should “go by the majorty,” and we assume the majority is not from trees that are 3 years or younger, then we can eat fruits without being too worried.
