CLD #139

All animals have a great quality. They are "free." Or are they? Are we free?  Animals do whatever they are trained to do, they do whatever their master tells them to do. Because we are Jewish that means we are "legit" servants of Hashem; how does this mean we are free, what makes us different from animals?
As Yehudim, we have a direct connection to Hashem: our neshama. Our neshama's purpose is to serve Hashem BaShamayim! Because this fact is 100% true, this makes us completely different from animals. It is true that both us and animals are "trained" to follow the master's plan (tefillin every morning, netilat yadayim, shabat kodesh every friday night, asher yatzar after bathroom, etc.) BUT we have a holy NESHAMA that is CONNECTED DIRECTLY to Hashem's Kiseh HaKavod in Shamayim, unlike animals!!! Our purpose is to serve Hashem.
When one follows the derech of our beautiful Da'at, and do what we internally want to do, we declare ourselves free (beginning of plagues in our parasha marking the beginning of freedom/redemption!).

Inspiration: Rav Avigdor Neventzhal's Parsha Shiur in YNA Weekly Newsletter:

"A free man...dictates his own path in life, he does as he wishes and is not subjugated to the wishes of anyone else." ( CLICK HERE to SIGN UP to the NEWSLETTER )

Keeping Shabat is another sign of freedom, so
SHABAT SHALOM U'MEVORACH :D!
Judaism=Think. Why are you in this world?

P.S. The slave is the one who is enslaved to his body's desires (when you can't control yourself regarding getting anger, laziness, sleep, etc.)
