CLD #131

When looking at the psukim in Ashrei, one can see how unbelievable the power of the pen is. David Hamelech who wrote the 145th Perek of Tehillim over 2000 years ago, wrote with magnificent grammar and I am sure he didn't write the Tehillim book (psalms) overnight. When looking at the 18th pasuk, "Karov Hashem LeKol Korav Lekol Asher Yikra'oo'hoo BeEmet," you can really see the beauty of our religion.
David Hamelech is saying Hashem is Close to All of His People that Want to Be Close to Him, that Call to Him with Honesty. Why did David HaMelech A'H add "Lekol Asher Yikra'oo'hoo BeEmet," it seems pretty superfluous?
I thought to myself that we always need to be in motion, in action, using the middah of zrizut for Avodat Hashem. How does this connect to the Pasuk from Tehillim? THE ONLY WAY HASHEM WILL BE CLOSE TO US IS IF WE CALL HIM WITH HONESTY. The only way Hashem will turn to us for help and give us attention is if WE take THE FIRST STEP! We need to push in Judaism. We need to act. We need to wake up and start throwing our thoughts in the garbage and tell ourselves "I don't care if I want to go clubbing, I am going to do what Hashem wants of me!" Only when one takes this step he will be able to understand why clubbing is not what Hashem wants us to do. Don't run away from the truth.
Do you really think G-d doesn't know you? You really think G-d doesn't know it is hard to turn away from the group of friends who want to go completely against the Torah?! Be Honest like it says in Tehillim and ASK G-D for help! Look up and speak to G-d.
Parashat Shmot shows us that the Jews were put into exile because of their decision to connect with the Egyptian (Non-Jewish) mindset and society. Time to learn from history, from our Torah HaKdosha.
Today is the first step.
Today is you.
Shabat Shalom
