KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEH'HOO BEN HA'OLAM HABA

Translated from Ve’en Lamo Michshol:

1. Our Sages have taught that if it was not for the Torah, we would learn Derech Eretz (how to behave with one another) from the Rooster since the Rooster acts with appeasement to its partner before mating. From this we learn that a man needs to behave with respect to his wife and once in a while send her gifts and modest delicacies in order to greaten between them love and peace.

2. One may not ask a woman how she is doing whatsoever. Therefore, an individual who bumps into his neighbor on the street (who is a woman) should not ask her how she is doing, rather he should ask her how her entire family is feeling. This is talking about a woman who is a stranger, however; in regards to a woman who opened her home to this fellow many times or a relative, he must ask her how she is doing on a personal level to respect her, but in any case it is better to ask how her family is doing and not her personally.

Judaism=Think.
