KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEH'HOO BEN HA'OLAM HABA

Translated from Shivat Tzion, Rav Miutzafi’s Halacha Book on Shabbat:

1. One should be in great caution and respect in regards to his speech throughout Shabbat Kodesh, especially in his speech in regards to forbidden things to say, gossip, Lashon Harah, Rechilut, etc. Indulging in these types of forbidden speech causes one to literally create in the Heavens Hamrful Angels that destroy the individual who speaks this way and praised is the one who is cautious in regards to refraining from gossip.

2. One should say Kabbalat Shabbat with great intention and happiness as if he is counting rubies and jewels, tikkun ha’olamot (the ‘fixing’ of the upper worlds) and the invitation of the Neshama Yeterah (the extra soul one receives on Shabbat) is dependent upon Kabbalat Shabbat. One should also refrain from speaking during Kabbalat Shabbat.

Shabbat Shalom!
