Translated from Yalkut Yosef:
1. If an individual violated the Shabbat by purposefully
lighting up a room, even if it was done by accident on Shabbat, people are not
allowed to enjoy from that electric light. Lighting up electricity on Shabbat
is a pure Torah violation of the Shabbat. However, one is not supposed to leave
the home completely, rather they should simply avoid reading text/books around
this light and avoid doing any action that could not have been done without
this light.
2. If a wanted item was in a dark room and a person turned
on the light to get it and violated the Shabbat via this action, even though
from the essence of the law one is allowed to gain benefit and enjoy from this
item, an individual who cares about his spirituality should be stringent upon
himself and avoid using this item on Shabbat.
Shabbat Shalom!
