Translated from Yalkut Yosef:
1. An individual must read Megillat Ester on Purim night and during Purim day. The time that
one can fulfill their obligation to read Megillat
Ester begins from nightfall (upon the sight of three stars in the sky,
called Tzet HaKochavim) until dawn
(this year falls Motzei Shabbat – Saturday night – until early Sunday morning).
2. The time an individual can fulfill their obligation read Megillat Ester during Purim day begins
from sunrise until sunset (this year falls on this upcoming Sunday). If an
individual reads the Megillah after dawn and before sunrise bediavad (worst way possible) still
fulfills their obligation to read the Megillah. If an individual somehow could
not here/read the Megillah during Purim night then there is no ‘make-up’ for
the reading on Purim day.
