Pirkei Avot 5:1 (translation: chabad.org) reads as follows: The world was created with ten utterances. What does this come to teach us? Certainly, it could have been created with a single utterance. However, this is in order to make the wicked accountable for destroying a world that was created with ten utterances, and to reward the righteous for sustaining a world that was created with ten utterances.
We say a Beracha (blessing) everyday on foods that are not
grown directly from the ground, such as meat, chicken, cheese, milk, beverages,
gummy candy, etc. What is the content that makes up that blessing? Baruch Ata Hashem Elokenu Melech Ha’Olam
Shehakol Nihiya Bidvaro, Blessed are you Hashem our Master of the
Universe through Whose word everything
came to be.
These Berachot are to remind us that HASHEM IS RUNNING THE
SHOW. Sometimes that simple reminder makes everything so much better and is the
solution to all our issues and obstacles in life. Just like it is written in
Pirkei Avot (top), Hashem created the world through utterances. What makes you
think He cannot help you out with your issues and challenges? Speak to Hashem,
Pray to Him, Interact with Him through your daily struggles and He will help!
You will SEE His support and care. You do not have to be in a Shul or around religious people to pray. You can do it right now (just avoid doing it in a bathroom)!
It’s
worth giving it a shot.
