KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHEH'HOO BEN HA'OLAM HABA

Translated from The Rambam’s Mishneh Torah, Hilchot Issurei Biah Chapter 25:

1. Our Sages taught that theft and sexual immorality are the two strongest desires for humans. One cannot find a congregation of people which are not involved in either of these sins. And more so our Sages taught that most people fail with the desire to steal, in regards to sexual immorality a small group of people fail and everyone fails in regards to things that are second nature to Lashon Harah (gossip that is passed on indirectly such as saying “Don’t make me say anything mad about her so just change the subject”).

2. Because of what is mentioned above, man needs to have his evil inclination surrender to a pure life, a clean thought system and a correct view of life in order to be saved from these sins. The biggest act that seduces people to sin is being alone with a woman one is not allowed to have relations with. Our big Rabbis used to teach their students about the forbidden laws to be with their own daughters-in-law and their own daughters in order to show their students not to be ashamed about asking questions in this matter and to influence them to distance themselves from being alone with women.
