Translated from Yalkut Yosef Online (Yalkut.Info):
1. On Hannukah there are those who also have the minhag (custom) to eat Sufganiyot (Hannukah doughnuts). The
Sufganiyot are doughnuts dunked in oil to remember the miracle of the Shemen Zayit (olive oil) that was used
to light the Menorah in the Beit HaMikdash after the Greeks violated and desecrated
the holiest structure in the world. (Rav Yitzchak Yosef adds:) and all your actions should be LeShem
Shamayim (this action of eating these Sufganiyot should be done separately
for Hashem, meaning for the right spiritual reasons).
2. A widow that is financed and supported by money that is
collected for orphans should receive enough money to buy oil and candles for
Hannukah in order for her to fulfill her obligation of lighting the candles of
Hannukah. It is suggested to give the widow enough oil in order to fulfill the mehadrin level (above the minimum of
only one candle per day) of the Mitzvah, meaning she should receive enough
candles to add a single candle every night up to eight total candles for the
last night of Hannukah, just like her husband would do when he was alive.
