To sanctify Hashem's name, lekadesh shem shamayim, is probably one of the toughest things to do. Imagine meeting your number one role model, imagine getting to know them so well that you eventually become like them. After a while, people point to you and say "look at X, he/she is R's number one follower." How happy would you be?!
Our goal with our Avodat Hashem in life is to constantly lekadesh shem shamayim, or to sanctify Hashem's name. This means we should aim to be like Hashem in order to spread His greatness and kingship across the world. We, the Jewish people, represent Hashem.
The book, Orhot Tzadikkim, explains in Sha'ar Ahava the meaning behind sanctifying Hashem and ultimately being Hashem's physical 'example' in this world. The Orhot Tzadikkim said like this:

If one is stringent upon himself to be cautious with their actions, if their words will always be spoken with a calm tone, if their life viewpoint is lined with theirs, if they are usually frightened and do not frighten, if they respect others, if they do business with faith in Hashem and avoid sitting with people who lack Torah knowledge and following the Mitzvot they are called one who sanctifies Hashem's name. If they constantly live with a Tzitzit covering them and with Tefillin wrapped around their arm and head, if they are always involved with Torah and avoid ignoring society and boredom and is loved by others, this is an individual who sanctifies Hashem's name.On this individual the Pasuk is written: "You are my servant, Israel, on whom I will boast" (Yeshayahu 49:3). What a zechut (privilege) to be used as an example of the nation of Israel for Hashem to show us off in shamayim (the Heavens)! How lucky are we that we are connected directly to Hashem through our neshama (soul)?! How lucky are we that we can simple open our mouths and recite tefillot (prayers) and songs of praise and love to Hashem who gives us everything WITHOUT asking fo anything in return, because in the end of the day keeping the Torah and mitzvot is only beneficial for us (you think Hashem needs your mitzvot)! Always be the light in a dark room.
Shabbat Shalom!
