Translated from Yalkut Yosef:
1. Whoever forgot to do Mayim
Ahronim (the Halacha of spilling a little amount of water on one’s
fingertips before praying Brikat HaMazon) and has already started Birkat
HaMazon should spill the water on his/her fingers once they remembered they
didn’t do it (without saying “Mayim Ahronim Hova,” which is usually said when
spilling the water).
2. Mayim Ahronim is not poured onto one’s fingers when the
water will then fall onto the ground because of the evil spirit that rests upon the water, therefore one must pour the
water on their fingers when their hands are above a vessel. However, the vessel
under one’s hands does not have to be a literal vessel and can be on top of a
sink.
