KOL HASHONEH HALACHOT BECHOL YOM MUVTACH LO SHE’HOO BEN HA’OLAM HABA

For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L, Yissachar ben Yona ZT’L and Haviva bat Yocheved Z’L.
From Yalkut Yosef:

1. One should not begin a custom in their Shul to start saying Kiddush in the Shul after Tefillah (prayer) because today we do not eat the Shabbat meal in Shul, and one should do Kiddush in the place where they are eating the Shabbat meal. In any case, Shuls that do have the custom to do Kiddush after the Tefillah, they should not stop this because for those Amei Ha’Aretz (people who do not learn Torah) who do not do Kiddush at home fulfill the obligation of Kiddush in Shul, even though they are not eating the Shabbat meal there. Therefore, one should have a small child who has reached hinuch (nine) to drink a revi’it (specific amount) of wine after the Berakha.

2. After Tefillat Arvit (evening prayer) on Shabbat eve one should quicken their pace to go home for Kiddush, because it is a Mitzvah to do Kiddush as soon as one can, and the speedy individual is praised. Therefore, one should not stay in Shul and chat with everyone. There are those who bless their children after Kiddush and there are those who bless them before Kiddush. It is correct to kiss the hands of your parents after Kiddush.

SHABBAT SHALOM!
