For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L, Yissachar ben Yona ZT’L and Haviva bat Yocheved Z’L.
It
is known to the entire Jewish nation, no matter how religious the individual is
or what country his/her parents came from, we all wants Mashiah (the Messiah)
to arrive. We all have a tiny dot of spiritual energy that is implanted in us
to strive to do Mitzvot (good deeds) whether we want to or not in order to
bring the Mashiah closer to our days.
One
of the biggest Mitzvot that testify this horrible status of being in the Galut
(exile) for more than 2,000 years is doing Tikkun Hatzot, which translates
as: Midnight Repair (the Jewish hour of Midnight and ‘reparing’ the world by
saying Perakim, chapters, from Tehillim). Tonight we can begin saying Tikkun
Hatzot at 12:39am EST. The last Perek (chapter) of Tehillim we say in the
Tikkun Hatzot is Perek Kuf Chaf Vav from Tehillim (Chapter 126).
There
are many things that clash in the Pesukim (verses). For example, the second to
last Pasuk says how those people who have planted with tears will reap with
song. What does this mean? In Hebrew the Pasuk states: HaZorim BeDimah,
BeRinah Yiktzoru and then the next Pasuk states the outcome, that the
individual will go weeping and carrying the baluable seeds, he will come back
with song carrying sheaves of produce.
A
Talmid Hacham from a Yeshiva in Monsey explained this beautifully: we all try
to do Mitzvot, but the real test is how we do them. There are those when
opening up a Gemara (Talmud) to begin to learn Torah or when they run around
Friday buying food for Shabbat or even when they go to the store that sells the
more modest clothing, they do it with tears in their hearts, they are crying and
weeping and just doing it because they know it’s the right thing. This is the
individual who plants seeds with tears. YES, they do Mitzvot, but they do it
because they have to and YES they do get Sechar (reward) but it
will be the seeds, the leftovers, the not so great produce of the land.
HOWEVER,
when you have the individual who works and plants with a SMILE, with SONG and
LOVE FOR HASHEM, he/she will return to the land to see the produce grow
fervently, it will grow with so much berakha (blessing) that it will taste delicious.
Picking the fruits/vegetables will be so easy because it was done with love. He
will “carry his sheaves.” This is the individual that is really on top, this is
the success story because he/she has reached the level of knowing that
everything is for our best. This is what David HaMelech explains through two
verses in all of Tehillim, this is the individual who appreciates, this
individual can be you and me. We just need to want it because we already know it’s
the truth.
