For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel
For the Refua Shlema of Chai Yaakov ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. When one wakes up from his/her sleep they should wait a
little bit before getting up, and after a short while they should get up to
serve Hashem, because for this reason man was created. One should not jump out
of bed immediately because it is dangerous for our health. Even if one has a
task of something Mitzvah related, they should still hesitate to do it. The danger
is when one immediately stands up on their feet and does not apply to one who
sits up and puts on clothing. In any case, one should not lazily lay down in
their bed aimlessly, as Shlomo HaMelech writes against lazy people. Mekublaim
(Great Kabbalists) had the custom of not speaking aimless matters until after
Tefillah.
2. The foundation and direction of one’s day is the
beginning of the day, therefore one should purify their morning to do the
service of Hashem. One’s first thought should be on Hashem’s greatness as well
and the first words should consist of Torah. After these first pure
actions/thoughts, one’s day snowballs into a day of Kedusha.
