For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L. Lehavdeel
For the Refua Shlema of Chai Yaakov ben Margalit shlit’a.
Translated from Yalkut Yosef Kitzur Shulchan Aruch:
1. Its good to give Tzedaka
(charity) before each Tefillah (prayer). One needs to give Tzedaka with good
and positive energy, in happiness and with all their heart and if one gives
Tzedaka to a poor person with a frown or negative looking face they lost the
zechut behind giving Tzedaka, and even if they donated a large sum. If there is
someone asking for Tzedaka, one therefore should push to never leave them
empty-handed, even if it means a small coin of money.
2. Money that was left in a Tzedaka box for a very long time
with nobody emptying it out, it is suggested to leave the box alone and simply
gives the money from the box to another organization with the same
interests/goals as the original.
