For the Ilui Neshama of Avraham ben Ester ZT’L.
Masechet Berachot 7a says something that makes so much sense
that is simply tough to do, especially in such a generation as ours:
The Tannah (Torah Sage) in the Gemara means to say that it
is more worth it for Hashem to have an individual break open his/her heart and
have him be his own rebuke master than many Malkiyot
(lashes given by the Bet Din as punishment). We all know the toughest and most
real individual to give us rebuke and criticism of our actions, which are
against Hashem, is me!
Hashem planted in each and every one of us a seed that is all
about Emet, the Middah (characteristic) of truth. I am not talking about an
element of Emet that tells me the sky looks blue and a traffic light shines
three different colors, I am talking about life changing decisions that need to
be made based on the Torah. We all know when we are doing something out of
line, that light that catches the lie and turns on bright. Therefore, in the
end of the day the Gemara is correct and there is nothing we can do about it.
It is all up to us to tell ourselves the truth that we are or we are not, G-d
forbid, going in the direction of Avodat Hashem, the service of G-d.
Its all in my hands
and its my responsibility, I must stop blaming others.
Judaism=Think.
